The Psychological Neuroscience Laboratory of CIPsi hosted Dr. Francis McGlone, a neuroscientist from the University of Liverpool, as part of the symposium "Caring in Contact in Neonatal Intensive Care," on October 13.

The guest delivered the lecture "The role of early-life gentle touch experiences on neurodevelopment," reflecting on the impact of gentle touch experiences in early life on neurodevelopment.

Drawing on work with various methodologies, including microneurography, psychophysical measures, functional neuroimaging, and behavioral measures, Francis McGlone proposed the development of a device, consisting of a mattress, designed to simulate gentle touch for hospitalized premature infants.
