The researchers Jennifer Cunha, Juliana Martins, Rafaela Peseta e Pedro Rosário have published an article in the journal "Frontiers in Psychology" titled "A Self-Regulation Intervention Conducted by Class Teachers: Impact on Elementary Students’ Basic Psychological Needs and Classroom Engagement."
This study suggests that students who participated in the intervention called "Yellow Trails and Tribulations” reported higher perceived competence and engagement in the classroom setting (e.g., satisfaction and interest in activities, effort, attention, and participation in class discussions, use of self-regulation learning strategies, and self-initiative).
The "Yellow Trails and Tribulations" project is a preventive initiative aimed at equipping preschool children (5 years old) and 1st Cycle of Basic Education students with self-regulation strategies and processes to enhance the quality and depth of their learning experiences.
